I think this is a terrible expression! I mean, really...the only time people ever say that is when you're desperately awaiting news and it just pisses you off. What does it even mean? If you're waiting for possible bad news that statement just prolongs the waiting, making you think even harder about the news. Other annoying things people have said to us recently:
A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
Let sleeping dogs lie (or is it babies)
The man who goes to sleep with an inchy butt wakes up with smelly fingers (annoying, butt true)
Maybe we're Saints...Maybe We're Dangerous
