The basic question is "Are we Dangerous?"
I remember watching this video when I was younger of a group of teenagers playing with an adult pet lion. One of the kids stepped on the lion's tail and it attacked, biting the kid's arm and and breaking it. But the lion almost immediately let go. The boy and the lion recovered nicely and the profits from selling the video bought some great comfort food for both.
I remember hearing a story from friend of mine of middle school innocence lost. She was in youth group at her church, 13 years old, down in the basement alone with a friend. He thought it was time to make out. She didn't know what she thought or wanted, but was excited no the less. When he slipped his hand under the elastic, she whispered "no..." She looked for eye contact but couldn't find it. She tightened her body as a last form of communication, but the was no reception in his mind. Screaming would just embarrass them both. Both are disconnected from the world.
I remember reading a book on modern food production. Cow used to eat grass and walk around to get their meals. Now my burger is feed corn in a small pen with 100 other cows, all standing in their own shit. The acidity created in their stomach by the corn and the antibiotics we use to prevent the infections caused by standing in shit breed E. Coli so deadly that less than 10 bacteria can kill you.
Maybe we're cute little kittens, or Maybe We're Dangerous
